Scholarly Interest:

Functional genomics in parasitic protozoa to identify druggable targets that are involved in DNA metabolism and epigenetics. This work is focused on the functional characterization of apicomplexan parasite (Cryptosporidium, Plasmodium, Toxoplasma) DNA replication proteins and chromatin remodeling enzymes at the molecular level, the development of high-throughput drug screens for inhibitors of these enzymes, and validation of these proteins as targets for anti-parasitic chemotherapy.
