Molecular mechanisms driving interactions between Babesia spp. and their hosts; characterization of potential vaccine or drug targets for babesiosis; development of DNA-based diagnostic tests for hemoprotozoan parasitic infections; molecular phylogeny of the hemoparasites; genomics of bovine resistance/susceptibility to ectoparasitism.
