Scholarly Interest:

Epidemiology and control of internal parasites of grazing animals. This includes improved diagnostics, evaluation of anthelmintics and sustainable use of anthelmintics by management of livestock. Anthelmintic resistance is a major and increasing problem for many producers. Identifying if a problem is going to occur before it does by looking at he genetics of the worm and the selection of animals, which have the capacity for resistance to or resilience from the effects of gastrointestinal parasitism are important aspects of this research. Exploitation of the parasite at times of vulnerability by management such as dietary manipulation, targeting treatment, seasonal reproduction, grazing management and rapid evaluation of parasite populations are areas of interest.
