From: Janice Mills To: VTPB FACULTY CC: AKIER, rhall Subject: animal inventory requirements The CVM policy on animal inventory requires that a physical inventory be taken at least once a month on all animals in the department. (1) For those of you with large animals (cows, sheep, etc) or potentially valuable animals, you will be receiving a hard copy record of the animals under your responsibility to verify and send back to Russ Hall, our departmenal Accountable Property Manager., each month. (2) For those of you with small animals (dogs, cats, rabbits, etc.), you will receive a summary of your animals (either a listing or a LARR statement) to verify and return each month. (3) For those of you with very small animals (mice, rats, etc), we will be treating these as supply items unless we hear differently from you. At this time, we only need to track the purchases of such animals and you will need to let Russ know (e-mail or a note in his regular mailbox) when you make these purchases on TAMRF funds. (The bookkeepers will let Russ know on animals purchased with TAMU or TAES funds). (4) If you do not have any animals, please read this memo anyway. Russ will need to be informed if you ever acquire any animals. Thanks for all your help in gathering information for the initial inventory last month. I realize this is yet another administrative hoop for you; however, we have tried to make it as easy a process as possible for you. Russ will send you a hard copy record each month which you will need to verify and sign. Please let either Russ or me know if you have any questions regarding this memo or the animal inventory policy in general. Thanks for your help in this matter!
